Unwanted facial hair, wrinkles and fine lines are common unwanted conditions that can affect not just your appearance, but also how you feel. While there are various treatment options that are available for these issues, they don’t always deliver the results that you may be looking for. Especially when it comes to over-the-counter treatments, it is likely that the treatment may not be all that effective.

This is where dermaplaning comes in. At Synergy MedAesthetics, we provide dermaplaning so that you can achieve a fresh, smooth, and glowing skin.

What is Dermaplaning?

Dermaplaning is a non-invasive skin treatment where a special exfoliating blade is used for skimming dead cells and hair from your facial skin. This process is referred to as blading or microplanning.

The procedure does not involve any use of chemicals on your skin, and only involves the gentle scraping of the blade on the surface of the skin. This treatment is an in-office procedure and does not take long to be completed.

How Does Dermaplaning Work?

The concept behind dermaplaning is pretty simple and is the same as shaving, which you do regularly on your own in your bathroom. The difference is that dermaplaning, instead of using a normal blade that you buy from the store, uses a sterile, surgical-grade blade, aimed at a 45-degree angle, to slowly and carefully drag it across the surface of your skin.

The process removes all your dead cells, scar tissue, hair, and other debris found on your skin. Also, the whole process is carried out by a trained professional in a clinic or office. After your dermaplaning treatment, you will notice that you have achieved glowing, rejuvenated, and ultra-smooth skin.

What is the Procedure Like?

The procedure for dermaplaning is fairly simple and does not take very long. It is also pretty much painless, although you may feel slight discomfort and some tingling sensation while the blade is dragged across the surface of your skin.

You may be given local anesthesia combined with oral anesthesia or a numbing spray to help ease the pain and help you feel more comfortable. Then, using the dermaplaning tool, which may be either manual or electronic, the doctor will start removing your dead cells, hair, and other debris from your skin. Usually, this takes no more than 30 minutes to complete.

After this, a soothing agent and sunscreen are applied on your skin for protection. This leaves you with a freshly exfoliated skin and a youthful appearance.

Who can Benefit from Dermaplaning?
