What Wrinkle Relaxers Do for You
Lines and wrinkles form by repetitive facial movements (think of smiling, frowning, squinting–even chewing). Over time, the muscles lose their ability to relax, and they remain contracted. This is what causes lines and wrinkles in your face. Neuromodulators are designed to force the muscles to relax, which causes the wrinkles to fade or disappear and prevents new wrinkles from occurring.
All neuromodulator injectables are based on botulinum toxin type A. This is a bacteria modified into a purified protein that is proven to be safe and effective. Botulinum toxin targets the muscles that are contracted, forming the wrinkle lines you want to get rid of. Botulinum toxin temporarily blocks nerve receptors in the muscle, stopping the muscles from being able to contract.
What Are the Different Types of Wrinkle Relaxers?
Taking years off your face is the goal, but where to start? Botox is the go-to for many because it’s so well known. But others on the market are known to be excellent, too. Each has its own positives to think about when you’re choosing a product.
Botox, Dysport and Xeomin are all fairly well-known wrinkle relaxers, although, of course, Botox is a household name these days. Each of them can help you turn back the clock and slow down the signs of aging.
Essentially, they are similar products. Each of these injectables are FDA approved, and they are each based on the botulinum toxin. The effects last several months. Despite their similarities, each has its own unique take on the ultimate outcome of smoothing lines and wrinkles from your face.
How the Treatment Works
The Synergy Lasting Lift takes place over several treatment sessions. It includes:
- 2 Sculptra treatments
- 3 INFINI treatments
Treatments are done every four weeks, each one taking about an hour. It is also possible to use other fillers (such as Juvederm, Restylane and Radiesse) in combination with your Lasting Lift. However, most patients find they don’t need these. Other than a lip augmentation for those who desire it, other fillers are rarely used with the Synergy Lasting Lift.
Botox, Dysport and Xeomin
BOTOX
Botox is potent and can be used for small targeted areas like crow’s feet. It’s FDA-approved for frown lines and forehead lines as well.
Dysport
Dysport is approved for the same areas as Botox, but is slightly less potent. It spreads out better than Botox, making it a good option for a larger treatment area, such as the entire forehead. Dysport can also give more natural-looking results, allowing a bit more movement in the face.
Xeomin
Xeomin is approved for the same areas as Botox and Dysport. It has no additives or preservatives, leading to its nickname, “naked Botox.” This quality lowers your chance of building up a resistance to it. It is a good alternative to Boxtox or Dysport if you’ve built up a resistance to those wrinkle relaxers.
What Is the Lasting Lift?
We have developed a combination procedure in pairing the product Sculptra with INFINI microneedling. On their own, each of these treatments are long lasting, revitalizing procedures that leave the face looking younger and refreshed.
Sculptra
Sculptra is an injectable filler that is used to restore facial volume lost to aging. It stimulates collagen production and can treat deep lines, creases, and folds to give a more youthful appearance. Sculptra helps restructure your face, building support and firm, smooth lines again. Sculptra gives the bonus of especially natural-looking results because it stimulates the natural production of collagen, and it will continue working for up to two years after the initial treatment.
What Happens During a PRF Treatment?
Infini is a radiofrequency (RF) microneedling device that uses your own body’s reaction to the radiofrequency to firm and tighten the skin. The microneedling technique is utilized to create many micro incisions into the skin, then the RF delivers thermal energy deep within the skin tissue. This stimulates collagen production and tightens the skin, but the outer layer of skin remains undamaged, so the treatment is safe for all skin types. The final results appear gradually over six months, and they last for over a year.
What to Expect During Treatment
The first step will be a consultation and discussion with our providers to talk about your cosmetic goals and to choose the right wrinkle relaxer for you. Once the consultation is done and you’re ready to begin, the treatment is short and simple. Our specialists will inject the wrinkle relaxer into the targeted area or areas. After Your Laser Hair Removal Treatment
Once the treatment is complete, you may experience some bruising, swelling, and tenderness in the skin, which should vanish in a few hours. Some results will be visible right away, while more clear results will be seen in the first few weeks. In order to achieve ideal and long-lasting results, it is recommended that you undergo six to eight treatments over the course of several months.

Synergy MedAesthetics provides small-group and private hands-on training courses, limited to eight classes annually. Courses are designed for established practitioners wanting to add injectable services to their practice, or gain skill and knowledge in more advanced techniques and products.
This limited, 6-hour comprehensive course includes introductory techniques and safety protocols, hands-on assessment of select treatments, and learning to identify the patient’s priorities in order to give them the best result for their time and money.
The course’s emphasis will be customized to your needs, but may include: neurotoxins (treating the forehead, glabella, crow’s feet, bunny lines, masseters, chin and neck lift, and/or microtox/insta-tox) and/or dermal fillers (for lip augmentation, cheeks, nasolabial folds, marionette lines, lip lines, chin, jawline enhancement, and/or various smile lines).
Highly advanced training (Sculptra Aesthetic, the Synergy “Quick Lift”, and the Nova Thread Lift) is reserved for those who have already completed previous training and have shown advanced skill.
CoolSculpting
CoolSculpting is a very in-demand procedure that can literally freeze away fat from problem areas in convenient and effective treatment sessions. This treatment uses a process known as cryolipolysis in which the fat cells that are underneath the skin are frozen, which causes them to die. They are then flushed out of the body naturally through the lymphatic system over the next several weeks.

Your Treatment
This treatment is very customized and exact, aimed at keeping you looking like yourself, just refreshed. Dermal fillers are expertly placed into the cheeks and surrounding areas, into the lines and corners around the mouth, the “marionette lines” around the chin, and lips. In total, you can expect the procedure time to take about two hours. After the treatments, you can expect some swelling, and bruising is possible. No downtime is required, but this procedure is more extensive than a quick lunch break filler appointment.
You can reduce these effects by taking certain precautions, but you should always be prepared for them. You will see improvements immediately, but full results will not be seen for at least two weeks, so be sure to schedule your appointment accordingly. Filler can be expected to last nine months to two years, depending on the product used. Botox or similar product treatments should be repeated three to four times a year to maintain results and prevent deeper lines from forming.

How often can I receive a CoolPeel treatment?
You can receive treatment once a month because the laser is so gentle. This is not always necessary but can help keep your skin youthful and refreshed.
Who is a candidate for CoolPeel?
Most patients are good candidates for CoolPeel as the intensity of the treatment can be customized. This allows us to treat even those with sensitive skin. If you have a skin infection, or allergy you may not be an ideal candidate.
Can I go back to work after my treatment?
Yes. You can resume all normal activities and should only look a little flushed after your treatment.

The Laser Vein Treatment Consultation
The first step in your treatment is a consultation at Synergy MedAesthetics. Our staff will evaluate the area you want to be treated, review your medical history, and discuss any medications you may be using. During this time our provider will ask you about your goals for the treatment, and the areas you hope to improve.
They will assess if you are a good candidate for the laser treatment and create a customized plan for your needs. Our staff will also walk you through the treatment process and explain the treatment step by step. You’ll be able to ask any questions you may have and discuss any concerns.
Fillers
When you arrive for your treatment, the area will be cleansed, and a numbing cream may be applied. This will help keep you comfortable during the treatment; although it is a painless procedure, the numbing cream can help with anxiety. Once you are ready for the laser, it will be placed on the treatment area and moved across it. The beams will begin to deliver concentrated beams into the lesion. At first, the veins will appear darker and more pronounced but will then fade over time.
After Your Treatment
There is no downtime associated with this treatment, and you should be able to resume most everyday activities right away. In the first few days following the treatment, the veins will be darker. You may also experience some swelling and redness. Over the next two to six weeks, you will see vascular lesions begin to fade away and ultimately vanish.
